Blank Report: Vietnamese Youth Football’s Data Void and the Scouting Problem. An analysis of a nine-section report that, after three months of surveying youth training centers across Vietnam, ended with almost every conclusion marked “cannot assess.” The absence of tactical, financial, governance, risk and media data is not a failure of analytics tools or of the scouts. It is exactly the message V.League academies and local training hubs need to hear: without a shared way of measuring, recording and storing the development of young players, talent scouting remains guesswork. The text argues that Vietnamese academies such as PVF, Viettel and HAGL so far lack one common physical testing standard; no longitudinal injury record exists; transfer values are set by agents and online noise, not by a verifiable player history. Buying a software platform will not solve the problem. The first step is institutional discipline: adopt a player ID, define a few reliable metrics, store records year after year, train data-literate staff, and give licensed scouts access to open files. The essay emphasizes that data should not replace human eyes. Details such as off-ball movement, reaction timing and ankle orientation before a dribble must remain central. In short, Vietnam still has a chance to build its own data map before the old layers become impossible to recover. But the work has to start now.
